How many times in the last month have you walked in the door and lost it?
Did you rant about your client or boss? Or did you bottle it up and get irritated with everyone at home? Maybe you opened a beer or wine (or scoffed chocolate)? Or ended up a blithering mess and non-functional?
Well, in a few of my previous jobs, this was the end of my day:
I should clarify – for the sake of my previous colleagues – that I liked the people I worked with, and I didn’t mind the work itself. But the work “style” was doing my head in!
So what can you actually do?
We all have different stress coping mechanisms. Some are more effective than others. My coping mechanisms in those jobs were truly crap.
Over the next few weeks, I’m going to explore a few of the less crap methods that I’ve adopted over the years.
